Terms of Service

Last Updated: February 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Unlatch service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. Unlatch is a zero-knowledge, encrypted password manager designed to maintain the highest levels of privacy and data security. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue your use of the service immediately.

2. The “No Recovery” Policy

Because Unlatch operates on a strict zero-knowledge architecture, we never store, transmit, or process your Master Password in plaintext. Therefore:

  • We cannot recover your Master Password.
  • We cannot decrypt your vault if you lose your Master Password.
  • Loss of your Master Password equates to the permanent loss of all data stored in your encrypted vault.

3. User Responsibilities

You are entirely responsible for keeping your Master Password safe and for all activities that result from access to your account. Do not share your 2FA codes, account credentials, or recovery mechanisms with anyone. Unlatch provides the tools for AES-256 encryption, but you must ensure your device and local environment remain uncompromised.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximal extent permitted by law, Unlatch shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service, including the loss of data. Our cryptography is designed utilizing standard AES-256 libraries; however, we cannot guarantee absolute security against unforeseeable systemic vulnerabilities.

By using Unlatch, you confirm you have read, understood, and accept these binding terms.
